The younger two whisper excitedly between the two of them, still throwing adoring glances at the older gentleman, but also throwing anxious glances toward the door. Then, he hands back the paper, says something to them and walks out. If they had been closer, I would have been able to hear what he said. However, I'm positive that he said something like, "It's time," before walking away. However, I am too far away to properly determine his words, so I must relay to you my positivity that he said the words I have inserted into this story. My suspicions are rising.
The older gentleman leaves. The girl half of the young couple waits for about two minutes then follows the gentleman out the door. The young man remains at the table, his eyes flashing frequently between me and the door at my back. I'm convinced that he knows I've seen everything. I know that he knows that I know that they are up to something. Finally, he finishes his coffee and leaves the coffee shop.
After he leaves, I determine several things:
1) That was weird and creepy. I have no idea what they could have been whispering about.
2) I may have no idea what these three people were talking about, but the only conclusion any logical person could come to is that these three are involved in a cult much like the one portrayed on the new TV show, "The Following." The older gentleman did, in fact, whisper to the couple, "It's time." Therefore, the younger couple is about to either visit the cult leader in prison, kidnap the cult leader's son, or murder someone.
3) I need more tea.
4) I may possess the only clue as to the identity of the perpetrators of the above crimes the young couple is about to commit.
5) I am suddenly very cold.
6) I begin to remember how much I enjoy making lists for no reason at all.
7) I really, really, really want to know what was on that paper!
8) I am far too susceptible to the influences of a TV show.
